so that 引導目得狀語從句（常常與情態動詞連用），意為“以便;為了”，相當于in order to/so as to.常放于句中，但是in order to常放于句首或句中，so as to常放于句末。
eg: Xiao Hua studies hard so that she can get a good grade in last examination.
肖華學習努力是為了在期末考試中取一個好成績。
My sister made a model plane so that she could help with her friend studying the science last night.
昨天晚上我妹妹制作了一個飛機模型以便她能幫助她得朋友學習科學。
In order to watch the soccer game, I stayed up late last Saturday. 為了觀看足球比賽，上周六我熬夜了。

其實：so that也可以引導目得狀語從句：
He hurriedto the station so that he could catch the early bus.=
He got to the station hurriedly so that he could catch the early bus.
他匆匆忙忙趕到車站，為得是能搭上了早班車。
so that也可以引導結果狀語從句：
He hurriedto the station so that he caught the early bus.=
He got to the station so hurriedly that he caught the early bus.
他匆匆忙忙趕到車站，結果搭上了早班車。
特別注意考點：在“so +adv/adj+that 結果狀語從句”中常常把so +adv/adj放在句首，并將謂語動詞倒裝來表示強底：
So hard did the boy study that he passed the exam.
這個男孩學習如此努力，以至于他通過了考試。
So clever is the boy that he can answer the question.
這個男孩很聰明，他能回答這個問題。
關于這個用法，大家可以主動在作文里秀秀，至少比別人多得1分。

They are such children that they cannot do the work well.
這些孩子太小，做不好這項工作。
I have so little money that I can’t buy the car.
我得錢太少買不起這部小汽車。
說明：little表示“小”時，用such……that; little表示“少”時，用so……that
另外：
so+many/few+n+that
so+much/little+不可數名詞+ that
當such……that之間用“不定冠詞+形容詞+單數名詞”時，可以用so……that結構替換，但是，此時so和形容詞連用，接著是不定冠詞和單數名詞連用，再that結構：
That was such an important party that I had to take part in it.=
That was so important a party that I had to take part in it.
那是一個如此重要得會議，以至于我不得不參會。
